The job is discussed at length with the client and then drawings are made for each part to be worked on. Preparation, restoration, and finish are also discussed at that time. The School of Artistic Engraving, Manassas, VA
Classes:
Classes are on a one-on-one basis, with an unstructured curriculum. Two days in a row are suggested for a week-end or 3 days during the week or one week. I am now offering twos new classes: drawing of animals and birds, and metal preparation for the firearms engraver. I have taught students: lay-out, design, scrolls, bulino, inlays, traditional methods of hammer & chisel-hand gravers, sharpening gravers, power assist tools. I am the only instructor on the east coast teaching with all of Lindsay's power assist tools in my School of Artistic Engraving workshop, Manassas, VA.
Manassas, Virginia is in close proximity to motels, fast food eateries, restaurants, Civil War Battlefields, museums, Dulles Airport, and is less than one hour outside of Washington, DC.
